Dr. Stuart D. Marks is a native of Columbus, Ohio, and received his undergraduate degree in Humanities from Emory University. He received his M.D. from Ohio State University and completed residency in Ophthalmology at Ohio State. He is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He is on the clinical faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology at Emory School of Medicine where he has taught micro-incision cataract surgery since 1987. Dr. Marks is a past Council member, Treasurer, and Program Chairman of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology. Dr. Marks is past Chairman of the Division of Ophthalmology, University Hospital and is listed in The Best Doctors In America, Southeast Edition as well as "The Best Doctors In Augusta", Augusta Magazine. Dr. Marks is a member of the Richmond County Medical Society and the Medical Association of Georgia.
Dr. Marks practices medical and surgical ophthalmology and specializes in anterior segment ocular surgery including micro-incision cataract implant surgery, corneal transplantation, ocular plastic surgery, strabismus, glaucoma, and office laser surgery. Dr. Marks has received additional training and experience in refractive surgery. He and his wife, Susan, have a daughter and a son.
